BOSTON, MA, August 24, 2017 – The Esports Foundation is proud to announce the inaugural Esports Foundation Inhouse Charity League for Blizzard Entertainment’s Heroes of the Storm game. The week-long event will host both professional players from the Heroes Global Championship (HGC), Blizzard’s premier Heroes of the Storm esports league, and fan favorite personalities who will compete in a league format for charity. Games from the event will be live streamed throughout the week starting on September 3rd, 2017 with special appearances on the stream by InVerum, Halorin, HeroPhysio, Argy, Yuuj, CavalierGuest, and Skimmy. There will also be special guest players participating such as jschritte, Fat94, Horsepants, Apex, Mewnfare, and many more.
The Esports Foundation is a 501(c)3 charity that operates in esports communities to raise both awareness and support for children in need. The new Heroes of the Storm charity league was the brainchild of Esports Foundation’s director George Gebhardt, who stated that “the inhouse league format has an untapped potential for introducing the fans to the players and personalities. Our goal is simply for everybody to have a good time while we raise money for a great cause.”
The overall winner of the league–the player with the most points at the end of the event–will have the option to either receive $250 or have $500 donated to The Esports Foundation charity in their name, prizes generously provided by the Team Freedom organization. All money raised for the Esports Foundation during the event will be tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
